The house
Fewer things. Better things.
Maison Seul is a design house in Dublin. We are making one object, in numbered editions, and a small permanent wardrobe of clothes. Everything is designed to be kept.
An object, and a wardrobe
Nothing is made to fill a catalogue. SKRIN, the cabin case, is the one object. Around it sits a permanent wardrobe: MA (denim), GRUND (T-shirts), QUTN (shirts), ÖVÖL (jackets), BARAM (joggers) and SĪ (loungewear), each named in the language of the place that shaped it.
Editions and the permanent collection
SKRIN will come in numbered editions. Each finish will be made once, in a set number, and every piece will carry its number inside. The design stays; the next edition comes in a new finish.
The clothes will be permanent: made continuously, never numbered and never discontinued, so the piece you buy is still there when you need another.
Kept longer
Every part that wears is designed to be replaced, and replacement parts will remain available for every edition. Dents and scratches are not faults. Aluminium keeps a record of where it has been.
Where it is made
Designed in Dublin. Made in China: SKRIN by a specialist aluminium manufacturer, the clothes by garment makers chosen with the same care. Manufacturing partners will be published before production, and every production batch will be inspected before it leaves.
We would rather tell you where it is made than leave you to guess. If that changes, this page changes first.
